Help for the public outabit iPhone release and the Android beta.
iPhone App Store installation
Download outabit 1.2 from the App Store. The public release requires iOS 15.1 or later.
iPhone beta with TestFlight
Optional TestFlight beta access is still handled by request. Existing testers can open TestFlight, select outabit, and install an offered beta update. Keep the current app installed and contact support before deleting it if you need help moving between TestFlight and the App Store release.
Android beta installation and updates
Use the Android installation guide for the approved download link, source-specific install permission, first open, and safe in-place updates. Beta access is handled by request.
Location permission and background tracking
outabit needs device location permission to record routes and calculate GPS-based activity information. Location and background settings on your phone can affect recording, especially while the screen is locked.
On Android, battery optimization can also interrupt background GPS recording. If a recording stops unexpectedly, check the location, background, and battery permissions available for outabit before the next activity.
Activity history and saved routes
Activity history and saved routes are separate. Removing activity history should not remove routes that you deliberately saved for future use. Before an update, keep copies of any exported activity or route information you cannot replace.
