outabit Privacy Policy

outabit is designed to track outdoor activities while minimizing collection of personal information.
Information outabit Uses
outabit may use your device location, motion or sensor information, and activity details when needed to record an activity and calculate information such as route, distance, speed, time, and elevation.
Location Data
Location access is used to provide GPS tracking and mapping features. outabit is designed to store recorded activity information on your device. Saved activity records may include route coordinates and location-based notes when you choose to save them.
Local Storage
outabit does not require a user account. Activity history, saved routes, preferences, notes, and related statistics are intended to be stored locally on the device unless a future feature clearly tells you otherwise.
Sharing and Selling of Data
outabit does not sell your personal information. outabit does not include advertising and is not designed to provide your saved activity history to advertisers or social networks.
Maps and Device Services
Some outabit features rely on services provided by your device or operating system, such as location services and map display. Those services may process information under their own privacy policies and settings.
Website Analytics
The outabit website may use cookieless, aggregate analytics to count page views, understand broad referral sources such as Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube, or direct visits, and count app-download clicks. The website analytics are designed to send only the page path, a broad referral category, the event type, and a download label. They do not send form entries, email draft contents, app activity, health or location data, full referring URLs, query strings, persistent visitor identifiers, or advertising profiles.
A broad referral label and a simple counted flag may be kept in your browser's session storage so a download on a later page can be attributed and the same tab is not counted as a new visit on every page. They expire with the browser session, contain no visitor identifier, and are not transmitted as an identifier.
Deleting Your Data
You can delete individual activity records within the app. outabit is also being designed to allow users to remove detailed location history while retaining aggregate statistics, or to reset activity history and statistics completely. Saved routes are managed separately from activity-history cleanup.
Children
outabit is not intended to knowingly collect personal information from children through an account or advertising system. The app does not require an account.
Changes to This Policy
This policy may be updated as outabit changes. Material changes will be reflected on this page with a revised effective date.
